Designed for non-lawyers, the online Master of Studies in Law (MSL) in Corporate Compliance program from Fordham Law has three start dates per year—in January, May, and August. This program is 30 credits and can be completed in as few as 12 months or as many as 36 months.

Application Requirements

Applicants to the online MSL program are held to the same admissions standards as applicants to Fordham Law’s on-campus programs. Your completed application will be reviewed comprehensively by our dedicated admissions team and should include the following:

  • Completed online application
  • Personal statement: Your 500-word personal statement should describe your reasons for pursuing a master’s in compliance, your five-year career plan, and the contributions you hope to make to the profession upon completion of the program.
  • Two letters of recommendation: If you received your undergraduate degree in the past 24 months, one letter should come from a college or university professor or dean. For all applicants, it is strongly recommended that one letter come from a professional reference, and in all cases, letters of recommendation should be from someone who knows you well and can provide a candid personalized evaluation of your potential success in the graduate program.
  • Résumé: Your current résumé or curriculum vitae should include your complete university-level educational experience, your complete employment history, and any additional academic or professional activities. Please also include any publications and presentations.
  • Official transcripts: Transcripts are required for all degree-bearing courses taken (as part of a complete or incomplete degree). If a course is mentioned on your résumé, it must be present in your official transcripts.
  • TOEFL scores (international applicants): For students whose native language is not English.
  • Application fee: The nonrefundable application fee is $70. However, the fee is waived for applicants who submit by the priority deadline.
