Paul Caulfield

General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, Third Bridge

Paul Caulfield, JD, currently serves as general counsel and chief compliance officer of Third Bridge, a global leader disrupting the investment research space. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the firm’s legal and regulatory requirements worldwide with a focus on employee and client support, product creation and delivery, growth, and expansion.

Prior to joining Third Bridge, Professor Caulfield was chief risk officer and chief compliance officer of IDB Bank from March 2015 to January 2022. As CRO, he helped guide the company as it became a Regional Bank, surpassing $10 billion in assets and working closely with the bank’s U.S. and Israel regulators, boards of directors and executives building large bank risk, compliance, and cybersecurity programs.

Before IDB, Professor Caulfield was part of Citibank’s compliance management team, advisor to two FinTech startups—founding one—as well as a legal services firm, counsel and director of financial intelligence at an international risk consulting and intelligence firm, and a Manhattan assistant district attorney.

Professor Caulfield is certified in information systems security, author of Getting to D.A.N.Y.: Lessons from a N.Y. Job Hunt, and host of the Fordham supported podcast Opinions My Own: Expert Insights on AML, FinTech & the Law.

Professor Caulfield received his JD from The Catholic University of America, in Washington, D.C., and BA in political science from Fairfield University in Connecticut. Following graduation from Fairfield, he spent a year volunteering in Latin America before starting his professional career.
